Michael Lomonaco, Chef and Managing Partner of Porter House New York, has dedicated his life to the American kitchen, celebrating the generosity and abundance of the American spirit with food that is equally bountiful, bold and filled with flavor. A native New Yorker and veteran of the New York restaurant scene, Chef Lomonaco has brought his cuisine and leadership to some of New York’s most iconic restaurants. Along with returning glory to the storied ‘21Club’, reviving the reputation to the magnificent Windows on the World and the memorable Wild Blue, Chef Lomonaco has been a well-respected, long-term participant in New York’s food world. Chef Lomonaco brought his cooking to Times Square in the 2002 Latin-concept Noche and Stamford CT with Shore House. Working with Sir Terence Conran in 2004 Michael repositioned the world-famous designer’s Guastavino’s for the NY guest. In 2006 Chef Lomonaco teamed up with Kenneth Himmel, an esteemed developer and restaurant operator, to bring Porter House New York and the neighboring Center Bar to the Time Warner Center.
The growth of new American Cuisine has allowed Michael the opportunities to do what he loves most: share his love for cooking and culinary vision with passionate diners beyond the walls of his restaurants. Michael has been a regular presence on television since the late ‘90s as a host for three years of his own series “Michael’s Place,” a popular program on Food Network; chef/host of Epicurious TV on Discovery and Travel Channel; a frequent guest on NBC’s Today Show; a repeat guest judge on the popular culinary competition show “Beat Bobby Flay;” and a frequent guest host on ABC’s “The Chew”, along with numerous other TV appearances. In addition, Chef Lomonaco has published award-winning cookbooks including The ’21’ Cookbook and Nightly Specials, providing epicureans with food lore, ideas for entertaining and cooking inspiration. He is also a frequent contributor to top national publications including Food & Wine, The New York Times and Bon Appetít.
Along with his many business ventures Michael continues to devote considerable energy and efforts to charitable works, serving on the advisory boards of City Harvest and Food Bank For New York City, as well as serving on the James Beard Foundation Board of Directors.

Our inviting and elegant atmosphere offers the perfect setting for lunch and dinner, holidays and special occasions with friends and family. Opened and operated since 2006 by Chef Michael Lomonaco and his partner, Kenneth Himmel, our menu reflects the sensibility of a great American grill and chophouse. You’re sure to find something for everyone in your group, from our dry-aged Prime beef, lobster, fish and carefully-sourced produce, ending with classic house-made desserts.
Designed by architect Jeffrey Beers in 2006 the elegant, comfortable dining room features over-sized picture windows that allow light to warm the space and reveal views of the sky, park and cityscape. With the careful service of our professional staff, our award winning and highly rated cuisine may be enjoyed in the dining room, at the bar, or in the informal lounge area.
Our carefully-curated beverage program, including an award-winning wine cellar with more than 650 labels, featuring wines from around the world from small vineyards to coveted bottles and cult classics. Enjoying cocktails at our bar is a popular pastime, where our well-trained and experienced mixologists offer personal service and extensive knowledge of classic cocktails alongside our seasonal specialties.
At the heart of Columbus Circle, steps from Lincoln Center and across from Central Park, Porter House New York is located on the fourth floor of Time Warner Center, part of the Center’s Restaurant Collection, and features sweeping views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline.
We offer continuous service from 11:30AM to closing, seven days a week. A lunch menu is offered until 2:45PM, while the dinner and bar menus are served until 10:00PM Sunday – Wednesday, and 11:00PM Thursday - Saturday. Our Bar staff happily prepares cocktails daily until midnight.
Porter House New York can accommodate a variety of special events, from small personal gatherings to large sophisticated affairs.
Our two adjacent Private Dining Rooms can separately seat up to 25 guests each, or can be used fully to accomodate up to 66 guests seated or up to 85 guests for a standing cocktail reception. It's also possible to book the entire restaurant for private events.
